EMAIL SUPPORT
hue@md2.co.ukProblems, questions and feature ideas are all welcome. It helps to include your device, the app version and what you were doing when it happened.
Make sure your phone, tablet or Mac is on the same Wi-Fi network as the bridge. On iPhone, iPad and Mac, check that Local Network access is turned on for hueDynamic in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network. You can also type the bridge’s IP address in by hand during setup. Then press the round link button on the bridge when asked.
Allow microphone access for hueDynamic in your device settings, then turn the music up and move your device closer to the speaker. Advanced Disco listens to the room, so very quiet music or a noisy room can make effects look flat.
Dynamic effects are sent from your device to the bridge, so a strong Wi-Fi connection helps. Try fewer lights in the effect, and keep the device on charge for long sessions.
Dynamic experiences, light shows, music sync and motion-triggered effects run on your device, not on the bridge. Keep hueDynamic running for as long as you want the effect to play. Switch programs and saved scenes are stored on the bridge and keep working without the app.
Open Pro in the app and tap Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you bought with. If that doesn’t work, email us with the date of purchase and the store you used (no receipts or card details needed).
Purchases are made through the App Store or Google Play and belong to that store account, so a Google Play purchase can’t unlock the iPhone app, and vice versa. Sharing them would mean asking you to create a hueDynamic account, and we’d rather not hold your personal data at all.
A new version for Windows is coming soon.
PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated 6 October 2026
No account
You never sign up or log in.
No ads or tracking
No advertising or analytics SDKs, no cookies.
On-device processing
Microphone and camera never leave your device.
This policy explains what the hueDynamic apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android, and the huedynamic.com website, do with information about you. We collect as little as possible: there’s no account to create and nothing personal to hand over.
hueDynamic is made by MD2 Solutions Ltd, a UK company. We are the data controller for the limited information described here. You can contact us at hue@md2.co.uk.
Your settings, rooms, favourites, playlists, sequencer shows, switch backups and the key that pairs the app with your Hue Bridge are stored on your device. We never see them.
Scenes and switch programs you save to your bridge are stored on the bridge itself.
Microphone: used for music sync. Sound is analysed in real time on your device and is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
Camera and screen capture: used to match your lights to what the camera or screen shows. Frames are reduced to colours on your device and are never recorded, stored or sent anywhere.
Photos: when you pick a photo to set your lights, it is read on your device. If you save a new photo taken in the app, it goes to your own photo library.
You can turn each permission off at any time in your device settings. Only the feature that needs it stops working.
hueDynamic talks directly to your Hue Bridge on your home network. This traffic doesn’t pass through our servers.
If you turn on the Smart Home API (Pro 2.0), the app accepts requests from devices on your local network that present your API key. It is off until you enable it, and it isn’t reachable from the internet.
If you search for photos in the app, your search words are sent to Flickr to find matching images. Flickr’s own privacy policy applies to that request. This product uses the Flickr API but is not endorsed or certified by Flickr.
If the app crashes or hits a serious error, it sends a diagnostic report to our server so we can fix the problem. A report contains technical details only: the error and where it happened in our code, the app version and build, the operating system version and the device model.
Reports never include your name, email, device name, advertising identifier, photos, recordings, or your lights and rooms. They are kept for up to 180 days and then deleted automatically.
We rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working to process these reports.
When you download an Experience Pack, the app requests it from our server. We keep daily totals (such as the number of downloads) and short-lived, anonymised records used to stop abuse. We don’t keep a record of who downloaded what.
Purchases and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never receive your payment details, name or email address. On Android, Google Play also checks that your copy of the app is licensed.
huedynamic.com doesn’t use cookies, ads or tracking scripts. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. We only see aggregate page-request counts.
We use Cloudflare to host this website and our app server, Apple and Google to distribute the app and handle purchases, and Flickr for photo search. We don’t sell or share your information with anyone else, and we don’t send anything to Signify or Philips.
hueDynamic isn’t aimed at children and we don’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Because crash reports aren’t linked to your identity, let us know roughly when the problem happened and on which device, and we’ll find and delete any matching report. Email hue@md2.co.uk.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
If we change how hueDynamic handles information, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
hueDynamic is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. We aren’t liable for any loss or damage arising from its use, to the extent the law allows.
Some effects, such as strobe and fast disco modes, flash quickly. They may trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy. Please use them with care.
hueDynamic is an independent app. It isn’t affiliated with or endorsed by Signify or Philips. Philips and Philips Hue are trademarks of Koninklijke Philips N.V.
