Regarding licensing, developing for multiple platforms is hard and requires much duplication of the effort for one platform. The Windows app alone has evolved over 4 years and the mobile apps have been actively developed over 24 months each. This is why there are very few apps that are developed for multiple platforms, but more importantly fully supported and maintained.<\/p>\n
As you probably know, hueDynamic is frequently updated with new features without requiring additional in-app purchases and is fully inter-operable across all platforms.<\/p>\n
A lot of apps are moving to monthly subscription models and this is not something I’m willing to entertain just yet. However, the only way I can sustain development based on a single small payment per platform is to charge per platform.<\/p>\n
Remember many apps charge for each category of effects with a price similar to my entire app, but with hueDynamic, you get all updates for free. Unfortunately though, I can’t work for free. There are also technical limitations to detecting previous purchases and all app stores used different credentials. To resolve this, there would have to be the added complexity of a “HueDynamic Account” you would have to create. We would then have to store this information which would become a liability and privacy concern for many people. As such, this is not something I am looking to implement at the current time.<\/p>\n
